Rewind Collective

Rewind Collective is a digital arts collective whose mission is to address gender imbalances and the underrepresentation of minorities across the art world. Its members create original digital works, digital editions, and digital works responding to existing physical works. Through their practice, they seek to spotlight women and minorities, groups that have traditionally been among those most marginalized by the art world. Rewind exhibited at the Amar Singh Gallery in 2017 and 2019. They were among the first artists to create an NFT integrated into the permanent collections of major museums, and their work is now held by the New Orleans Museum of Art, the National Gallery of South Africa, and Fundación MEDIANOCHE0 in Spain. On 14 May 2021, Christie’s made history by offering traditional paintings accompanied by NFTs—created by Rewind—during its Post-War & Contemporary Art Day Sale. The sale generated more than $1.28 million, and a solo work by Rewind sold for $150,000. In June 2021, a digital work sold at Phillips during the 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale (afternoon session) for $201,600. In June 2021, Rewind became the first NFT artist to partner with an international beauty brand, Givenchy Beauty. Rewind editions sold out in 2 seconds and raised $128,000 for a charity supporting LGBT youth.
