Andreas Mühe (born in 1979 in Karl-Marx-Stadt/Chemnitz) is a German photographer and artist based in Berlin, known for often staged images that dissect power, ideology, and German historical memory. Working readily with a theatrical aesthetic (actors, artificial lighting, sets, and precise costumes), he reconstructs situations and symbols from the past in order to question collective identity and the way history continues to haunt the present.
