Robert Rauschenberg

Robert Rauschenberg (1925–2008) was a key American post-war artist at the crossroads of Abstract Expressionism and Pop Art, famous for his Combines, which merge painting, photography, and everyday objects. Through this hybrid and experimental practice, he blurred the boundaries between art and life and paved the way for assemblage, happenings, and conceptual art.
